Guest post on the wife's blog today.
The Luxembourg American Military Cemetary is 5 minutes from her new office in Luxembourg City so we went to the cemetary this morning at 11:00am for the Veterans day ceremony.
There was a flyover right at 11, which you could hear, but hardly see at all because of the dense fog that is so prevalent this time of year. I thought this very fitting as most of the 5000+ buried here from the Battle of the Bulge had their own issues waiting for the weather to clear so they could get some air support.
The ceremony itself and 21 gun salute is very moving, especially when you are standing next to 5000 white crosses including General Patton's.
I've linked a favorite story of mine about Veterans Day from the late Mike Royco of the Chicago Tribune if you want a good read. There are more pictures from this morning and a great video about the history of the cemetary if you care to watch.
God bless the United States Military.
